So if the chain of ego-function is broken and much of what occurs seems to take place on its own, what is left? There is an increased awareness of “being” and of “consciousness” unrelated to the body.  The awareness of being a local aspect of the infinite whole is beyond the physical body.  This awareness varies in focus, intensity, and degree.  Some of the permutations of this awareness include what can be termed as having a quality of “I”ness. 

The key characteristics of the local aspect of consciousness are an intention to be an open channel for LOVE, to be Loving, and to be LOVE, to the extent possible.  There is a general goodwill to all, expressed as a willingness to serve, to be useful, and to help. There is an openness, willingness, and curiosity to learn and understand, and to move ever higher in level of consciousness, Oneness, and LOVE.  One is aware of a local sense of I or Self (not self as per the ego) arising concurrently, when a context arises in local consciousness that seems to call for such an “I”, for instance when someone asks for attention or for specific help.  It is as if LOVE suddenly flows in and fills the open channel as appropriate within the overall context of each such situation.

This seems to call forth a projection of persona or personal-ness, appropriate to the current context.  Consciousness becomes less diffuse (less no-where in particular) and seems to become more tightly focused on the selected portion of local context to which LOVE is being channeled, or within which action is to unfold, or in which the Presence or some Divine Attribute is to radiate.  This becomes more clearly defined as unfolding takes place.  It may be something relatively mundane such as the floor needs to be swept, paperwork must be filled out to achieve an envisioned good, someone needs help crossing the street, or an opportunity to provide spiritual uplift, wisdom, or assistance.

The point is that that the motivator and central control point is LOVE, utilizing the local willingness to allow LOVE to express, via the openness and willingness of the local aspect to be available, open, and present, so as to be manifest in whatever way is most benevolent, beneficial, and harmonious at each moment of the unfolding creation.  What takes place is not because of ego or lower motivation, but because it is appropriate, harmonious and loving within the local and universal context.

The sense of “I” or “Self” that arises from the Presence of that LOVE, becomes sufficiently clear and tightly focused, to convey or accomplish that which is appropriate within the local circumstance, after which the local aspect of consciousness and sense of “I” or “Self” tends to become more diffuse - seeming to go back to being a point of willingness and good intention awaiting the next call for LOVE to express. 

This does not mean that one’s consciousness is in the clouds all day.  Our society is fast-moving and as the context changes one is continually called to be present and express LOVE in various ways.  Long-term sustained effort and intricate detailed effort and attention may be called into action by LOVE, as well as short term effort and attention, depending on the context and how LOVE chooses to express. 

There is no story.  There is an awareness of being perceived to be part of the stories of those around one, who have an ego-function and all that goes along with it.  Instead of a story, there are a series of loosely associated vignettes, but no desire to blend them into a story.  These vignettes are simply a part of the unfolding.  Each moment and each set of moments that make up a vignette tend to have the sense of being complete in the NOW - as opposed to fitting into a dense and complicated ego story, based on emotionally charged past memories.

The sense of identity is not based on the local context/content within the vignettes, but the broader, deeper sense of being in which they arise.  Things happen, knowingness takes place, thoughts emerge, actions are taken, but they do not take place within the tightly defined confines and multiple layers of an ego story, like a train going down a track from one point to the next.   There is a consistent cohesive organization and unity, but this comes from the deeper and broader context, beyond the local.

There is awareness that the various vignettes or life events are related and that certain themes can be seen to be unfolding and certain essences or attractor patterns can be seen to be expressing.  There is an understanding that it is important to express consistently, characteristically, and reliably across vignettes, in relationships with people, in a manner that is loving, considerate, and aware of their needs, concerns, and perceived roles and identities. There is simply no local “I” forcing its local interpretation (story) and projecting its fears and desires on each unfolding moment and event.  The reality of CREATION unfolding is what is BEING expressed.   It is not a story.  It is REALITY.   That REALITY is what is enjoyed, in its completeness and wholeness, moment by moment.
